Pray for 'CLEAR SKIES'

Recommended Posts

Received my new GSO 2.5x barlow today. WAYHAY. Unfortunately our weather is upside down. 20+ degrees last week and snow this week. On a serious note, the barlow is called a '3 element' and I, obviously wrongly, assumed that meant 3 lenses. Upon looking down the barlow there only appears to be one lens, so why is it called 3 element ? GIVE ME CLEAR SKIES PLEASE !:icon_salut:

Were you to take the barlow apart by removing the lens retaining ring (hint, don't do this really :icon_salut: you'd find what appears to be a thick glass lens, then a thin spacer and then another, thinner, glass lens. On close inspection the first, thick, lens reveals itself to be two lenses cemented together. Those three lenses are the three elements.
