Ganymede12
I hate clouds. Tonight (5/4/12) is the best night for viewing syrtis major and the clouds are threatening to ruin any chance of that! Does anyone know If the Martian feature will be visible at any other time?
John
Use this Mars Profiler tool to see what features are visible when. They come around pretty often but not always to co-incide with cloud free skies !:Mars: Which Side Is Visible? - Planets - SkyandTelescope.com
Moonshane
hi thereas far as I am aware, Mars has about the same length day as us (I think it's 24.5 hours) so it should be visible for a few days either side of 'peak' at the same times.
