2" eyepiece holder

hi guys/gals

got a skywatcher 42mm 2" eyepiece [twas cheap and thought it would be good for widefield at dark sites etc ] anyhoo because i got my 200p second hand i don't have the 2" eyepiece holder so cant get the eyepiece into holder ,but no one seems to sell them that i can find anywhere

Can anyone think of a work around ?

Your focusser should be able to take 2'' eyepieces with out an adapter,you should have an adapter that takes 1.25 eyepieces that you remove for 2''' ep's

my 1.25 screws into 2" adaptor but it only leaves a 1.25" screwed thread it needs that adaptor [which is part of the dob kit but because it's second hand i aint got it:(]

Skywatcher take a unique approach to this and, on some of their models, use both a 2" and a 1.25" adapters which are used separately in the drawtube.

These can be hard to track down - you might try a "wanted" advert on the UK Astro Buy & Sell website.

This German supplier may well have something suitable as well:

Sorry i thought them focusser's took 2'' eyepieces directly when the 1.25 adapter is removed.

nah seems to be a skywatcher thing was thinking of shaving down a 2" pvc pipe but don't know if that would work

Newer SW scopes can take 2" without an adaptor.

Older scopes can't.

They seem to change the focuser design every 12 months or so ....

Failing the options mentioned above, you could ask a local engineering workshop if they can make one from aluminum (for lightness) or whatever metal takes your fancy, (precious metals optional)!
