Hi MM Great shot you have captured some really nice detail in your image. On the subject of darks and flats I read an interesting article in this months Astronomy Mag about the amount of darks we take and how effective they are. In the article the chap states that after a certain number they cease to have any more effect and using more just wont work! I was surprized to hear this as I normally take loads. He reckons that past 16 darks you get what is called the asymptotic boundary and the effect levels out so no more noise is reduced in your images. The article is on page 62 of Aprils Astronomy Mag. Dont know what others think of this but if the guy is right then why are we taking so many darks and flats?

Here's the details on the article.
