First Attempt At H-Alpha Imaging

This is the sun from around mid-day today and is my first ever hydrogen-alpha image. Taken with a QHY5 and a Lunt LS60.

Excellent first attempt

I would say though you are just a little over exposed in the middle, try dropping the exposure a touch, it doesn't matter if it seems too dark as you can always brighten in photoshop later.

Yep, viewing is difficult. Can you setup near a shed?

This is what I do, have the mount, scope and camera outside (er, obviously) and run the USB cable into the shed and shoot from in there with the door closed while setting up.

I still need to keep nipping out to focus but once that is set, I can sit in the shed with the laptop and image away.
