Thanks everyone,

James - thanks, that definitely gives me some ideas and questions to ask the people here about their mount before building.

Regarding the bikes, I have owned a 400cc honda, a gsxr600, a gsxr1000, and also one of those new spyders with the 2 wheels in front. Those are great for long trips as they have a storage compartment in the front. I have so many hobbies and not enough time for them all!

Yes this dob was actually purchased back in mid 80's and was $499 delivered. My father purchased it and I have inherited it now that he has passed a couple years ago. But he always loved that scope and it was his pride and joy. It was always a great attraction when I was younger. And I am honored to now get the pleasure of using this incredible beast. :)
