Luna Mosaic

Hi all.

Well tonight was the first clear night we have had here in ages so I could not let it go to waste.

As the moon was so bright it made DS imaging totally imposible so I decided to do the only thing I could.

I did this 36 frame Luna mosaic.

Taken with my 200mm newt and a phillips 900 web cam.

The moon was so bright I ran the camera at 60 fps.

36 one thousand frame AVIs.

Stacked the best 95% of each AVI in Registax 5.

Put the mosaic together in microsoft ICE.

I dont know if it will load on here as it is 3.6 mb in size but I will give it a go.

If you open it up you can zoom in and in and in.

This has got to be the best mosaic I have put together to date.

Thanks

Graham.

I have just been given a brilliant tip about constructing mosaics.

After you stack each image before you save it you crop the edges off.

Then when you put all the images through ICE you do not get any of the joins showing.

See attached images.

The first is the original one I posted and the second one is after I reprocessed the final set of pics as advised.

Try it yourselves it rearly does work.

Thanks

Graham.

Many thanks for the kind words.

The next project will be another Luna mosaic but this time I will be using the 5x barlow.

Should work out at about 100 panels, all I need now is for the cloud to go and another full moon.

What are the chances of both in one night ?????? lol.
