Help on eyepieces

Recommended Posts

Can anyone advise on what eyepieces to buy, i have a skywatcher 200pbs. When i bought the scope it only came with one eyepiece which was a 28mm. At the moment i am only looking at planets last night i saw mercury, venus, mars, jupiter and saturn. they all looked amazing but really small. The scope takes 2" eyepieces can i use 1.25 eyepieces or will it make a diffrence to the clarity. Any advise would be welcome.

i have just ordered my first telescope and am so excited.

i have also gone for the 200pds.

when ordering it (only a few min ago im so excited) i ordered an adpture to change from 2" to 1.25" dia ep was told that this was a good idea as the 1.25" are cheaper

The 7mm of these ... First Light Optics - Celestron X-Cel LX eyepiece would work great in your 'scope..I tried it in a 200pds on Sat. on Mars & Jupiter.... I know £69 isn't cheap...but some sites are now sticking that up to £85...so might be the right time to invest

Hmmm.....like your thinking, I've looked at the X-Cel Lx before but went for the Hyperion Zoom last time, do need a higher mag ep though
