Giro-type alt-az on UK AB&S

In case anyone is looking for something like this, I have one of these and it's a pretty strong mount (see pic below). It needs a tripod hub with the north peg removed or removable to fix to a tripod and the dove tail clamps chew up dovetail bars a bit so bear this in mind.

So what are the benefits?

Its solid, smooth and easy to use, even with quite big telescopes. And being Alt-Az it takes no set up and is intuitive to use.

Are those Ambermile mounts still in production today? I believe it was yours John that I had my C100ED mounted on on the Saturday evening at SGL6, and I as remember it was very smooth to use.

I just can't seem to sustain communication with the guy selling it. I contacted him the first time he listed it with no reply. He listed it again and this time when I contacted him I got a reply to which I asked how much postage would be and again nothing ????????

Do they fit straight onto a CG5 tripod John ??

How strange ??? I emailed him again earlier and again no reply. Well I'm not going to drive all the way down to london for a now discontinued giro mount so he need not reply now anyway.
