Vibration Supression Pads

Not so much DIY as opposed to cheap washing machine ones.

Moral of the story is they suck. They are designed for BIG movements and to quash / quieten those.

The proper Meade/Celestron ones are made of something (I dunno) that quashes the fainter / smaller movements of vibration through the ground and work brilliantly.

Hi i made some last year from plastic bottoms of bottles filled with layers of mouse mat and black corking, part success they did work well but the first set did,nt last long second set just used glued mouse mat layers in a bottle bottom they lasted ok. The next set will be similar but thinner as from tests only two layers of mat are necessary, more and you spot vibration but increase lateral instability.
