Hello,

A quick imaging session from today.

Image comprises of 20 frames stacked in Registax and post processed.

Shot using a Canon 7D DSLR & Vixen 102mm f/10 Achromat with a Canon 1.4x teleconverter to increase the image size to full frame.

The sun is fairly quiet at the moment.

I am aware of the Baader Solar continuum filter but which UV/IR cut would you use?

I take it the Neodymium filters IR cut is not good enough?

I got the Baader UV/IR cut filter for Christmas but I've only tried it out once and I couldn't tell much difference. But other's swear by them and get much better granulation and focus. I think it depends on your particular refractor as to how much difference it makes.

Thanks, maybe I shall start with the continuum filter and see how I get on with that to start.

Great result Mark. This is just how I am seeing it through the 6" newt with baader film.

Glad you are having fun with the Newt/ND5 filter

The extra aperture should help with keeping the image bright at higher magnifications.
