M106

Hello all ....

Spent a bit of time looking at this object. I am not a fan of galaxies because, simply put, I am not very good at imaging them. Perhaps if I gave them much more time.

Anyway this is M106 in Luminosity only

A great start.....you seem to be fine at imaging galaxies from what I can see!

For just 1 1/4 hours, you've done well there. The key to imaging in general is time on target.....triple or quadruple the amount of subs you have and you'll see the noise fade away and be able to get a lot more out of the faint areas.

Are you planning on shooting any colour? M106 is a very rewarding target and worth putting some time into

If that was imaged tonight mick the 18th, you have worked wonders. the turbulance up there tonight as caused havoc with all of my attempts. I am sure you will soon come to terms imaging galaxys having seen your work with nebulae.very well done.

Wow, is that's what you can produce when you say you are not very good at imaging galaxies then there's some fantastic images to come. You've certainly captured a lot of detail in the core and in the fainter outer regions, nice work!

Great image - although I do note an oddity at 3-oclock with the stars, possibly a little guiding issue.

Thanks men .... The 3 o'clock thing is a collimation problem I think. I must force myself to put more time into galaxies.
