Astronomy and Lego - a Mak mod

Like others here I wasn't satisfied with the lack of fine control on the focuser for my 5" Mak. I've seen the bottle top mods made by others but I wanted something more substantial. So wandering around the house I alighted on another geek hobby of mine - lego. I had some tyres from an old technic set (this one if that's what you're into) - they are a very tight interference fit, but once they are on they work a treat:

If you want to do this yourself but you don't happen to have any 1970s lego lying around, you can buy them for pennies on bricklink.
