Cutting holes in foam?

I've found a nice looking case with foam inserts that would look great with my Hyperions inside it but the foam is uncut and I always make a right mess of cutting out the right shapes. Please tell me theres a trick to it....?

If your eyepieces come with end caps then i just use the end cap that i want to fit that particular eyepiece in.

You just push and twist the endcap with the open end face down

this should cut the foam the correct size.

A bolt case will do the same

Or you could try a photo negative canister using the same method

by pushing and twisting the canister against the foam.

I have read before, (never tried it mind), to soak the foam in water. Pop it in the freezer. Cut it whilst frozen and dry throughly.

Sounds like it'd work fine. Anyone ever had a go?
