Stacking Barlows?

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of 2x barlows, one I bought for my previous scope and one that came with my new SW200P.

If I fit one barlow into the focusser and then fitted the other into the first barlow, will it work? and does it equate to a 4x barlow?

Should work but not sure how well, the focal length will have been increase by 2 barlows that are/were designed to work with just the single objective.

Catch is that not only do you increase the focal length you are also increaseing the various errors that come with the barlows. These will increase quickly.

As you have the 2 you could give it a try.

I use a Astro revelations 2x barlow stacked with the stock SW 2x barlow that came with my 200P and it works reasonably well when capturing video with a webcam

Probably get better results with a decent 4x barlow ?
