SW 150P OTA on AZ4 Goto

Hi, Do you think that it's OK to mount a SkyWatcher Explorer -150P OTA onto an AZ4 Goto mount? I am concerned about the weight any opinions or experience from members will be much appreciated..

Magic combo in my opinion

The weight is no problem, the AZ4 really is a very sturdy mount. I normally fully extend the legs as well, this pic was taken the same day I got the mount.

The AZ4 isn't a go to mount, it is a manual mount. The AZ GOTO mount First Light Optics - Skywatcher AZ GOTO mount is a bit too small to carry the 150 effectively. The AZ4 should carry the 150.

Thanks for the reply. Looks good Rik. I am considering this type of set-up as mentioned, although I have the AZ4 Goto mount.

The AZ4 as I stated before is not a go to mount First Light Optics - Skywatcher AZ4 Alt-Az Mount with Steel Tripod. The AZ Goto First Light Optics - Skywatcher AZ GOTO mount is at its limit with the 130p or 127 mak. The manual AZ4 should handle a 150p

now that's a setup. storable, portable, nice pentax glass. i think that's the sort of think you could keep using for the rest of your life. a sweet spot between a dob that's to big to use a lot of the time, and a scope that's to small to show things well.

How vertical can you get the scope on the AZ4 mount? Also do you think the Alloy leg cheaper AZ4 would take the 150p?
