Software for Imaging Source DFK21AU618

I have now received (but must wait for birthday in 2 weeks time) an imaging Source DFK21AU618 CCD camera. In addition to the s/w that comes with it (IC Capture) and (when I finally get around to it) PhD to download for autoguiding, is there any other software others would recommend? I have Windows machines for image capture and with DSS and Registax. I have a Mac with Photoshop Elements 8 for further processing.

I think you'll find the Imaging Source Capture software is more than capable of meeting your immediate needs. I'd certainly start with it and only change if you find you have problems.....

Can I second AstroIIDC - it has a naff licensing regime - but totally rocks!

Firecapture

I'll second the nomination of Firecapture. It includes some great features including semi-automated capture for shooting through RGB filters and a neat feature for assistance with composing lunar mosaics. It also appears to be slightly more stable than TIS's own software.

Firecapture's fine - but is Windows only, and is blown away by AstroIIDC on all counts...

Thanks. I'll take a look at Firecapture (my Mac's not for taking outside!). However, as a Java app it should, in theory, also work on a Mac and could be they've just not tested it.

It's rather Windows specific when it comes to cameras support.
