Evening all,Just a quick question about my 1000d,Is it normal when connected to laptop and you take say a 5min exposure, that once finished it takes anougher 5mins to load onto the laptop? Just seems strange that its that slow transfering.

I save it on the flash card then download them all later when finished. I never tried it your way but it does sound a long time for one exposure.

You may have automatic dark frame switched on - it will take a dark of the same exposure as your "light" - hence the apparent 5 min delay!

Just read the manual(!!!) its called "Long exposure noise reduction" and needs to be turned OFF! (Page 155 in my manual).

Turn off long exposure noise reduction and high ISO noise reduction. A good set of temperature matched darks will do a better job anyway.
