I'm a Tele Vue addict but was very impressed with the Pentax XW 10mm and 30mm eyepieces that I tried a while back. The 10mm was a touch better than the Nagler 9mm I felt.

The slight problem is that the Pentax XW's are even more expensive than the Naglers

Oh yes. I bought my panoptic last year and it is just wonderful in my dob. I'm now saving for a 6mm delos. I'm hoping there may be some deals at Astrofest again.

What I meant was that if you read recommendations and reviews (not just here, all over the net) in terms of price points you tend to get nothing between a Hyperion and a Nagler.

Oh, that's ok, I took it differently anyway.

I'm sure there are lots of other great EPs but I've not used anything between a hyperion and a televue as it happens.

I bought my hyperion as a widefield for the Mak (well as wide as you can get in a Mak) and jolly good it is too. Later when I needed a widefield for the dob, the panoptics were 20% off!
