M1 Crab

This is my first serious attempt at the Crab Nebula.

It always amazes me the speed this thing is expanding (1500km/s), I think it really emphasises its size and will be interesting to see how it looks in another 10 years.

Finally managed to resolve my processing hiccups (fingers crossed) and have been able now to remove dark and flat files.

This is 4 x 5 min with the same darks removed & flats applied.

EOS 50d un-modded

Stacked in DSS then cropped & twiddled in Nebulosity.

Any hints, tips or critique welcome

Looks pretty good to me. More subs would help in reducing some noise. But the filament detail in the nebula is very nice.

Getting rid of some of the colour noise would improve things I guess but its looks pretty neat to me as well nice detail showing inside.

If you got something more like 30x5mn subs you'd have a super result. It looks to me as if everythng is right here but you just need a vast increase in your depth of data.

It's an old story!!!
