According to met office on my iPad, it's supposed to be clear tonight. I'm getting my gear ready now and making sure batteries are charged...

It's a pity my new guide scope hasn't arrived yet, so I will use my old one.

I believed the BBC last night when they said that, took everything out and as soon as I flicked the switch on the mount Polaris vanished behind a thick cloud. It was so bad the moon was invisible.

IIRC The met offices visibility forecast is based on ground level rather than skyward...

So unless its accompanied by star and moon symbols it cant be taken as gospel... even then its dubious at best....

I've been waking up everyday at 6.30am just to try and catch Saturn for the first time but it always cloudy

Just cloud everywhere, and a bright spot of cloud where the moon is.
