Rattler
Well after getting my scope on Saturday, today has been the second night of clearish skies and so far I've seen Jupiter, Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and Lo although Europa and Lo were so close is was very hard to distinguish them.I also saw a satellite through the finderscope as I was aiming at a cluster. Not sure which cluster it was though.A few questions though and the first may sound daft. Do we see images through the scope as a mirror image? When I saw Jupiters moons they were on the right side of the planet, when I looked on Stellarium they were on the left.Secondly, it all looked slightly blurred even when focused as much as possible. Is this likely to be because of collimation or sky conditions?
Zul
Yes you see mirror images You can check it on ground objects like other house or something and you will see that it shows backwards.
David Smith
Secondly, it all looked slightly blurred even when focused as much as possible. kniclander
blurring might be using too high mag for the scope and/or the conditions or could be collimation (which is always worth checking if you have a newt)ps Io pps - try this Jupiter's Moons

Rattler
Looking at Stellarium at that time, the satellite may have been Cosmos 1484.
