Dob Fund Nears It's Target

Hi All,

Well, the moment creeps ever nearer as the scope fund is almost at it's target, thanks to some crawling around the loft, and selling most of it's contents on you know where, (I almost feel I'm getting a free scope!)

Anyway, I digress. I don't think I'll be able to wait for delivery once ordered so I was thinking of a drive up to Norwich to Warehouse Express as they stock the Dob in question. I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them, and if so are they good/bad to deal with?

Don't have any experience with them, but I must say First Light Optics usually deliver the day after ordering so you wouldn't have to wait long if you ordered with them. Plus their service is great.

Which bit of Suffolk are you?

Just wondering in Scope and Skies are closer.

The complaints about them tend to concern bits not being sent. Having been there a few times they are pretty good when you go there in person. Oddly they are very good when you go there in person.

Warehouse Express delivery from there Supplier, so there's no pickup, i would go for .....

There is a bit of a back log from FLO at the moment, I tried to order scope on Saturday last, they told me it would be delivered by Friday. Still an absolutely great service though. I am waiting on a call back tomorrow from Harpers regarding same scope.

Typical, after like 6 months, i'm finally ready to order my 200p on the 20th of this month, now everything is going wrong. We've got the Stargazing live rush about to happen, and a backlog at FLO...

Avoid Warehouse Express - had nothing but hassle from them when buying camera gear in the past - they take your money from the credit card even before confirming stock, then you have to jump through hoops to get it back if you dont want to wait for it to come into stock - bad business practice. Go with FLO or take a drive over to Scopes and Skies - not that far from you - you`ll not only be able to look at the kit before buying, but they will happily show you the basics od collimation etc..

No rush at the moment looking at the clouds AGAIN outside!

Harrison telescopes is another great supplier, you can also give Ed a ring there, never any problems getting through, it saves waiting on an e-mail, they also price match too,all-in-all harrisons are wonderful people to deal with.

Bit far away for me i'm afraid, not sure i'm entirely sold on a flex tube either, but that's a whole new can of worms!
