Skywatcher Evostar 80ED DS-Pro eyepieces

Hi

My early Christmas present has arrived, an Evostar 80ED and although it will be mainly for imaging use I would like to use it for some visual.

As for eyepieces I have the supplied 28mm 2" Skywatcher one and a few low quality 1.25" ones from an old refractor.

What I would like is a reasonably high powered one for planetry use.

Does anyone have any recommendations in the up to £100 price range?

As recommended frequently on this forum, you can't go wrong with BST Explorers, would be perfect for your telescope, the 8mm and 5mm would be perfect for planetery use. Looks like this scope has a long f/ratio, check the 5mm is not too much magnification for you and this scope as I don't know the focal ratio. Is it the 600mm (f/7.5) version?

The 5mm might be a bit too ambitious for this 'rich-field' scope IMO.

I had a ED80 (f/7.5) until I moved onto a Megrez 90.

Used a 4mm (TMB Planetary) with it to give x150.

That was the useful limit for 95% of the time, so 5mm will be fine.
