Just got my new/first scope.

Recommended Posts

Just received my new telescope. ;) Got all together and ready to view the Universe. Just have to wait until tonight. My look up to see if the Space Station is in view.

The telescope that I got is a Celestron AstroMaster 130 EQ.

As I write this they Science Channel has "How the Universe Works" on. Oh can't wait just had to say something on here tho.

Good luck with the first session Scott - you may be in luck tonight - I've just checked the Met Office satellite image and it looks like there be some clearer skies coming over the UK later (full cloud cover here in Chester at the moment).

Scott - Go on the web to "heavens above". Then click on "ISS" and the site will show you actual positions of the ISS in its orbit at any time.

Good luck and wishing you many clear, dark skies.

I looked at that one, 2 or so years ago when I upgraded last. eventually went for the Skywatcher below, due to it a) being slightly easier to store, :) coming with an RA drive. the drive turned out to be a bit pants, but the scope was very pleasing ! although I feel the aperture fever itch coming on, and the need to spend money to fix a few other things too ;)

By the way, UK folks, anyone else noticed that notorious box-shifters Currys are selling AstroMaster 130s now ? ;)
