First try at imaging - Jupiter 25 Nov

Hello,

My first real try ever at imaging. The only thing I tried before was shooting a couple of pics afocal, hand held

I only had roughly one hour of "clear skies" before the clouds rolled in again and since it was the first time I used the webcam I might have done a couple of bad things, hehe.

Anyhow, here is the final result.

That looks pretty good and you have caught a couple of the Jovian satellites. Well done.

Not much wrong with that image!

Just to be super-critical there is some red (at the top) and blue (at the bottom) of the disc - assuming you used Registax to stack your image - you could try using the "RGB Align" button (its on the wavelets page). Just use the "estimate" command and the colour fringing should dissapear.

Nice bright image you got there, keep at it you will be amazed how much detail you can catch with the 127 mak. I have the same scope and it never fails to amaze me.
