I have to say that, just like the images in your first post Peter, you really are managing to acheive some stunning results with your afocal compact.

I'm amazed and impressed with how well you've nailed the exposure and focus - just brilliant.

I can't seem to achieve any focus using my compact through the scope.

Love the photo, looks great, and quite an achievement with a compact.

I'm going to eventually try mounting the camera on a tripod and see if I can get a half decent shot but it won't be anything like yours.

I hope to own a reasonable SLR or DSLR camera body so I can fit it at the back of my Nexstar 4 SE, but I'm using my old digital Canon iXUS400 for now. I use a digicam 'adapter' and its made to be screwed to the telescope lens.

IMO you don't need that DSLR expense. Your results are outstanding. Of course, you will feel more of a photographer with the DSLR.
