Its because I have my OU astronomy exam tomorrow and need an early night- I'm probably missing the clearest, darkest and best stargazing night since I got the scope in the spring!!!

D'you know. I thought exactly the same thing. So I checked the humidity. Here, it's currently 60% at 9 degrees C. This is much lower humidity than we've been getting recently, so I put it down to that.

It really goes to show what a difference humidity can make. The usual glow from my nearby town centre is much less noticeable tonight, and the darkest part of the sky is extending much closer to the horizon.
