Telescope mounts

Ive been looking at goto mounts for my 90mm refractor. I was thinking of mounting it in a shed with a tarp roof and drop down sides, what do you guys think of this mount ? First Light Optics - Skywatcher EQ3 PRO Synscan GOTO

It's a nice mount but for photography I'd want something a bit beefier like an EQ5 Goto/CG5GT minimum - or preferably an HEQ5. My 115mm refractor is on an NEQ6 Pro if that helps

I only do the scetch stuff kim, and of its a money thing !

An eq3 will handle a 90mm nicely Dave but not leave nuch room for future proofing. Drives are a must if your sketching as you probably know and the EQ3 is more than up to the job of keeping objects in the fov for long periods if properly aligned. They arent heavyweights either so make nice reasonably portable mounts for when you take the scope to Kelling:)

Ahh... lightweight scope for sketching - EQ3 with motors should be fine as Phil says. Ignore my first reply lol

Its trying to get the ballance right isn't it, trying to give yourself as many options as pos.

Yep - I misjudged this one - shame you can't future proof with a slightly heavier mount - but I'll look forward to seeing your sketches at Kelling - a skill I simply don't have
