Hi James - Welcome to SGL

I see you have the "buy something regularly bug" that I seem to suffer from.

Thanks Alan!

Considering I burned another $175 today on a new focuser for my telescope... I would say you are correct! :)

Hi / Welcome,

I'd be interested to hear how those large bins perform.

cheers

Hello Syntarsus!

In my opinion the Konusvue 20x80 GIANT are *awesome* for the moon, jupiter, and some double star viewing. They are also great for wide field views of the constellations, and you can see the spectacular clouds of dust from the Orion Nebula. Of course, you will want to get yourself a decent tripod for them, as they get a bit heavy to carry around your neck after 30 minutes or so.

Personally, I like my Celestron 15x70's better because I can carry them on my neck a lot easier than the Konus binoculars. The views are also similar. However, the Konusvue beats the Astromaster for Jupiter viewing hands down.

HTH :)

-James
