Skywatcher v Celestron

Hi

Does anyone know how the Explorer 200P OTA Tube Only compares with the tube of the Celestron Advanced C8 N-GT?

I originally ordered the complete Celestron tube and mount but the guy at RVO has said there is a flaw in the glass of the Celestron and needs to go back. He reckons the Skywatcher tube is better anyway and is willing to do this tube on the Celestron mount, he reckons it would cost more but is willing to do it at the same price.

Is that a good deal? I've seen the reviews of RVO on here and they all seem pretty good, so I have no reason to doubt him.

Optically, I think they are exactly the same (apart from the flaw that this particular Celestron example seems to have). Probably mechanically very similar too, apart from the colour scheme.

All made by the same manufacturer.

Yes but not the same quality control and parts (bearings).
