I think I'm now nearing the point where I shall be doing this - I'm hoping my obsy shed will be weatherproof in a week or two and I'll be able to uncover the mount

Found the pipe ends on Screwfix at 99p - unfortunately, I've just today put an order in to Screwfix for consumer unit and various electrical bits for my warm room. I could so easily have added the end piece Oh well, I can probably get one in town next time I go - I don't want to add the delivery cost to such a low price item!

Just about to do this little mod Have webcam and plumbing part all ready to go. I'll leave making the hole until daytime though to get the good light.

Done it and tried it last night. Polaris was behind cloud unfortunately so couldn't use it in "anger" but I did get a great image of the reticle on my netbook and it was even in focus straight off
