AR11305 1st October 2011

Hi!

I managed to get a few images on Saturday, the first really sunny day since July.

Here is a picture of AR11305 in white light taken with a 140mm refractor and Baader Herschel wedge. Sorry it is a link but I haven't really learnt how this site works yet (how to upload a photo), so my apologies.

I would love to get that chrysanthemum effect of the penumbra in Halpha... So tough to get that focus. Well done.

Oh and if you wish to put the pics direct on your page here,just upload the images to say photobucket(free),then put the page on the page restore down(middle of the buttons top right of the screen i.e. right to left..... Close ,restore down,minimise buttons)

and click on the thumbnail to the pic. actual size,and drag it across to your page on stargazers...again with stargazers also in restore down....SIMPLES:cool:

Montana, the granulation is so clearly resolved here, and the penumbral detail is exquisite. You have certainly mastered white light imaging!

Thanks Chris! I still have a long way to go though, I need to get my 5x magnification up to scratch now, I think this may take a while but I'm not going to stop trying.
