Canon picture rotation

I have a canon 1000d connected to a telescope and controlled via ATP now when I slew telescope to m31 and take picture it always rotates the final picture unless I manually turn camera first,how can i control this without upsetting focus all the time?

I would suggest framing, rotating and focusing on the target rather than whichever position you are starting from (Polaris / Home?)

I wouldn't worry about it it will all come ouy in the wash (or in this case the stacking)

If it really annoys you then turn off "Auto Rotate". It has no effect on the orientation of the image on the sensor, only on the viewing screen.

Agreed, done it the other night. Half the pictures were landscape other half portrait, chucked them in DSS and it didn't blink an eye.
