First time Plantery imager, help required

Recommended Posts

Hi all

after what seems forever, i have finally got some time to point my C11 edge and DFK21 towards jupiter. Now while I have had this kit for over a year this is the first time I have used it and I have a few questions.

1) do I need to use a UV/IR block filter?

2) what video size and colour format do i use ( yuy2,y800 or by8)?

3) what FPS should I use?

any other advice will be greatfully recieved :)

cheers Jon

I used an IR pass filter on Venus, but it may work ok on Jupiter. But it lost so much light that on Saturn/Mars it meant increasing the exposure so much that the frame rate went down to 15fps...

So the IR pass will help, but at the cost of FPS...

Cheers

Ant
