What software .....?

are people using to determine positioning of the GRS etc for Joop ?

I've been relying on "The Planets" ( browser based) but I've noticed certainly over the last few days that it is definitely out of synch, and my location is not so far away as to have an adverse effect

If you mean "The Planets" from my club's website CPAC, then you can change the longitude of Venus in the data file. If you open the dat file in notebook the first number is the longitude of the GRS. Just change it and resave. I periodically get the longitude from the Sky & Telescope website. Then the predictions remain accurate.
