CG5 GoTo on ABS

Just wondering, is this a good deal guys?

I thought it would have been snapped up by now. Is 270 delivered a decent price?

I need a mount to tide me over until the LX80 is released

Is it noisy when tracking? Or just when slewing?

Only auto slewing.

When you manually slew you can change the speed to a slower quieter setting. If you know the rough area of the sky you want to go you can do this first. The auto slewing will then only move a fraction depending on how good your estimate was (far from ideal)

It tracks whisper quiet...

The CG5 mount is superb and I personally feel bats way above the similar EQ5. This said the motors are insanely loud. In the middle of a summers night when neighbors have their windows open you almost feel ashamed to use it. The Nexstar GOTO has lots of nice features compared to synscan also but given the choice I wouldn't go with the CG5-GT again. This is not saying that if a standard CG5 came up I wouldn't go for it. At least this way I would have the choice of bolting on the quieter synscan kit.

Wanted to buy it from him, but he isn't replying to emails so probably best to avoid.

I think I know the seller and if it is him, he is a well respected astronomer. I would give him another try. I have noticed that since AB&S changed it to them emailing the seller that it can some times take a while to receive emails.
