Maplin 3 in 1 Powerpack.

I am picking one of the above up tomorrow for use with the EQ5. They are on offer at the minute at £19.99. Anyway, will i need to pick up any other connectors or adaptors when i am in store. Don't want to get home and find out i need a special adapter to connect the leads to the pack, especially when the store is 60 miles away!

I am sure your EQ5 motors are 6v.

The maplins jump starter is 12v .

Thanks Graham, i incorrectly assumed the output on the Maplin unit was switchable between different voltages. It's back to the drawing board.

You could use Either of these Switch mode DC - DC convertors with battery pack to give you the output voltages you need...

Check your mount as i've just had a look at my EQ5 and that runs on 12v DC.

I think the EQ5 Skyscan works on 12v but the standard dual axis motors on the basic EQ5 run on 6v.

my mate has eq5 and he went to maplin to buy the power tank but found out he didnt need it,he took his battery pack with him and they sorted him out a battery that runs it for hours,think it cost him around £30

I was thinking the same. Even if it is 6v a switched DC/DC switched car adapter can be picked up cheap enough of astro boot or ebay.
