first look at sun

hi,

put the sun filter on for first time today, impressive, 2 sun spots

might take this further with filters etc & try some imaging, amazing viewing

anyone give me a starter for ten & suggest some filters

The only additional white light filter I would suggest would be to add a Baader Continuum filter at the eyepiece/ camera. This can improve contrast.

The solar filter you currently use does 99% of the work.

Went on your Flickr link expecting to see some solar shots, but was presented with some excellent macro and portrait photos.

I find my cheap wratten 58 (dark green) filter to be almost as good as my continuum filter. Not quite, but almost. I must compare them photographically some day.
