Pub Quiz Question Poll

Here's the poll for that dastardly pub quiz question. For those that haven't seen/have forgotten the original thread, the question was:

True or False: The Earth is older than the Moon.

Surely this has no answer?

Doesn't current thinking suggest the moon was once part of the Earth, thus making them the same age?

As said present thinking and proof by moddelling is that the moon was created from the earth when another reasonable planetoid hit the earth. The resultant mass ejected then cooled and eventually gathered to form the moon.

That was also the findings of the moon rocks, same age and same basic material.

So neither answer is right, but false is more right as the earth is not older, it's the same age.

As I said in your last post I dont think its really a valid question nor do I believe anything is PROVEN on this hence chose the latter option

The question revolves round the word "older", in terms of creation it is generally accepted the Earth was formed before the Moon, True, if it is older by composition, then they are the same age, False. IMHO the question is unfair
