M31 Pics not good

Hi All,

I have been playing with taking pics of M31 but am sadly failing, So far (mostly due to clouds) have only been able to take about 12 or so pics in succession but when I look at them they are orange and very little detail, I have run them through registax and tried to do something with them on photoshop but with little or no effect.

Is the orange light purely light polution as Where I live Birmingham is only 12 miles to my east so anything in the east is subdued by light untill the early hours.

Any help would be appreciated.

ANd if it is LP then what is the best filter to use wth my skywatcher 150p and Pentax ist dl dslr

Orange with little detail showing is quite normal for a single exposure.

Try using DeepSkyStacker for stacking pictures, Registax is mainly used for .avi's when planetary/lunar imaging

+1 - Registax isn`t really for DSOs
