Powered or unpowered hub

Can i get away with an un powered USB hub for my 350D DSLR useing a serial to usb shutter release cable and usb cable for image download + QHY5 guider usb

If powered is the way to go, would someone recomend a good hub.

I would definately go powered to ensure you get no disconnets.

The powered hub is the way to go.

I got mine, and a 12V-6V step down transformer ( to allow me to run everything from 20Ah gel cell batteries) from Maplins.

Works very well. You just have to remember (mark the ports) to plug in the cameras etc into the same port each time to prevent "camera not found" errors.

Powerd is the way to go...I forgot to turn mine on the other night! It was only when I came to pack up that I realised I'd lost mount control...It wouldnt park! luckily I was ST4 guiding so it didnt matter to much.
