Will we get a good view ?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if it will be too light and perhaps too low in the sky to be seen from here? The iPhone Moon app suggests that at maximum totality it is about to rise, and stays low in the sky throughout the eclipse period.

The app could be rubbish or perhaps its a user error?! :)

Best wishes,

Vicky

I’m thinking about going to the sea to view it, if its clear.

I think that pretty much the lowest horizon you can get.

I expect it would be a bit difficult to get a south south east sea horizon in Scotland though.

by my reckoning, the moon should rise in totality.

Totality will end about half hour later with the moon at about 3deg above the horizon.

the partial phase should end about an hour after totality ends at about 8deg above the horizon.

I will definately be going out to have a look if the sky is clear.
