Collimation question regarding 35mm film canisters

Hi everyone,

I have an old 35mm film canister that I would like to use to help collimate my SW150PL. How wide should the pin hole be in the bottom of the canister?

3mm is about right.

The bottom of the canister should be cut off and a 2 - 3mm hole drilled in the canister lid. The best canister to use is the black Kodak 33mm canister (not APS).

Hi Peter,

Thanks ... I was wondering how I would go about putting the canister into the eyepiece holder and having the hole at the top. Just to make sure I know what I'm doing ... make a 3mm hole in the canister lid, remove the bottom of the canister and slip the canister plus lid into the eyepiece holder ... simples.
