print a chart

use Configuration (F2) menu, go to Tools, next to Screenshots then set the Directory where you want the screenshot files to be saved. Then press Ctrl S to capture the screen to an image file, then print off the image file

If you want printed charts you might find cartes du ciel/skychart gives better results. Positively user hostile compared to the ease of use of stellarium, but once it "clicks" it's a fantastic bit of software.

Cartes du Ceil produces far better charts than Stellarium for printing on an ordinary home printer. You can also put your own finder or Telrad circles on the chart - a very useful feature.

As Odd Dob says stellarium for ease of use and pretty pictures on the screen but CduC far better fot the technical stuff!

Hi Ken,

From Stellarium, hit print screen to put a copy on the clip board then paste the copy into your graphics program. Before printting you might want to invert the image to print black stars on white background - saves a lot of ink !
