lukebl
Really nice image.I noticed that there is some slight trailing in the stars, resulting in them having 'eggy' shapes, and I hope you don't mind me trying a little trick in photoshop to reduce it. Here's the result.
fatwoul
Very nice, Peter. Every time I open an M27 thread at the moment, the results just seem to be more and more impressive!Luke - YOU MUST SHARE THIS TRICK!
lukebl
Can't remember where I learnt the trick on reducing oval stars, but I copied the following into a file which I keep in a little 'tips' folder in my computer:1) Duplicate the image as a new layer2) Set the duplicate layer blending mode to "darken"3) Then apply Filters -> Other -> offset and adjust the vertical and horizonal offset values until you get round stars. With Peter's image I just set the offset to 1 pixel to the left. I don't think it works on all images, but I think it worked here.Sorry, Peter. Didn't want to hijack the thread or detract from your really nice image!
