Questions on QHY5

Hi,

I have decided to buy an ST80 as a guidscope and was looking at the QHY5 as a guide camera but, I have a few questions:

1. Does the QHY5 come with a camera to mount cable or can I just use the one that came with my HEQ5 Pro?

2. The Blur I read on the QHY5 says it is windows Vista copatable but does not mention Windows 7. Are Win 7 drivers available for QHY5.

3. PHD seems like a good progam for guiding but can I use it with QHY5?

Must admit, the easiest option at the moment seems to be 'buy a synguider' as it doesn't need a PC or other software!

The QHY5 can be be purchased with or without the required ST4 cable. The HEQ5 is not supplied with this cable.

The camera is compatible with Windows7.

PHD should be able to see the camera as an Ascom camera, download the Ascom drivers fom QHY-CCD.

PHD will certainly talk to QHY5.

If you use the proper ST-4 cable from the camera to the guide port of the HEQ5 -majic happens! If you got a ST-4 to ST-4 guide cable with the mount it should obviously work.

I use AA5 under Win7 for all my image capture ie DSLR/ ATik/ QHY5 so I don't know what other programs may be avialable.
