Skywatcher Quattro OTA weight?

Hi,

Has anybody found some detailed specs on the upcoming SW Quattro 8" F4 CF newts? All ive found so far is a shipping weight of 10kg, but the OTA weight surely must be lower than that being carbon fibre, Ideally no more than 5kg - which is the weight of a steel tube 150P.

Shame someone cant invent CF tube rings too, that would shave off quite a bit.

I agree with the CF tube rings suggestion - that really would shave off some weight.

Don't forget the big fat mirror cell too, there's a lot of weight in that.

Ive thought about that. Those 8" mirrors sure do weigh a fair bit. Ive got a feeling its going to be in the 7kg region, which is a little too much for me

Well, its June now so we should be hearing something soon in regard to specifications and availability. Thats if skywatcher havent fallen behind in its design or production.

As a C8 weighs in at 4.7 kg, the increased length of an F/4 scope will add to its weight. 6-7 kg would seem more likely.

And an MN190 weighs about 12, so my guess is the same as you guys; about 7kg.
