Processing software

I intend to record some avi's tonight of Saturn and M3.

What is the best software to use to process these?

Can you you use Deep Sky Stacker to process AVI's?

Use Registax (freeware and lots of tutorials available) or Avistack (Free but not so commonly used but pretty much just as easy - again lots of tutorials available). Both are capable of doing 99% of all you need - just a touch in Photoshop or GIMP - freeware (or one or two other freebies whose names escape me!)

Yup - Registax for AVI's and DSS for deep sky stacking

I don't know it but some like AVIstack.

'Registax' for me. Use it for lunar, planetary and white-light solar avi's. 'Deep sky stacker' for deep sky and widefield, 'Startrails' for startrails.

I use wxAstroCapture to get the AVI's then Registax to process them. Works very well.
