Meade 3000 plossl value

Hi,

Someone is selling 2 16mm plossls for £70 for the pair, which I think is way too much. I have had a response back from him after I asked him how much for one ep, and he's quoted me £35 plus postage; is this a fair price?

Are the 3000s better than the 4000s? I don't know. But I do know my local astro shop sells the 15mm 4000s for £43.49.

The older Japanese Meade 3000's are pretty good plossls - I've owned a number of them and found them as good as the original Meade 4000's and better than the more recent Chinese manufactured 4000's. That said, they won't command the sort of prices that Tele Vue plossls do - I'd say £25 apiece would be a fair price.

Got to agree £35 is a little too high. I would say about £25 also.

agree but a matched pair might command a small premium for binoviewing?
